Primitive Pebble – Moss
It all started with a pebble from the shores of Lake Michigan. Deep green, tumbled smooth by years of being tossed in the icy waters. Picked up for its color, given a groove around its center in order to make an ornament from it by a modern day artist in the Midwest, mimicking a technique used for eons by people worldwide.
I have securely wrapped this pebble in artificial sinew, and knotted a strand of Chlorite included Quartz to complete the necklace. The beads look like little bits of moss trapped in ice in shades of deep green, brown, and maroon.
This necklace measures 18″ currently. Additional length can be added. It closes with a handmade hammered copper hook and eye clasp.
