FAQ

Not much here yet. If you have a question for me leave a comment and I’ll address it!

Topics I’m working on now include:

  • Identifying quality stone beads vs junk beads
  • Glass bead buying guide -true color vs surface color
  • Stringing materials and their uses
  • Recommended reading materials – magazines and books

That’s just a few things rolling around in my brain. It will take a while to get 15 years of learning my own way into the written word. Especially the stone stuff. What I learned, I learned from talking to geologists, gemologists, lapidaries, and jewelers, along with scouring books who’s names I don’t remember, and an untold number of experiments. Attending local gem and mineral shows  has lead me to make some valuable contacts as well. Trial and error has proven to be my best teacher. As well as focusing on one stone and learning as much as I can about that stone.

In general, beads are such a personal thing. What it boils down to is this, if you like it, use it. If something speaks to you, that’s really all that matters. If you don’t love your materials, you won’t make anything spectacular with them. Plain and simple, eh?

Stay tuned!

Blessings.

Peace.
