Keep it simple…

Working on some new pieces for our trunk show this weekend. I always seem to end up making some of my favorite pieces in the frenzied few days before such an event. Maybe it’s the pressure that really moves me to create? I’ve always said I work best under pessure!

Yesterday afternoon Ashley was visiting and we ended up at one of our favorite bead stores, picking up a few little odds and ends for various projects. I found myself smitten with some nice earthy glass beads, then proceeded to pick up some coordinating Swarovski crystals as well, with the idea of making a bracelet when we got back to my place. After sitting down at the bead table and going over my purchases, and adding some beads from my stash, I realized I had enough to make a necklace AND a bracelet! Ashley encouraged me to make something simple, yet elegant, that could be worn with a variety of styles. Here’s what ended up flowing out of my hands.

It’s a little bit sparkly and a little bit earthy and I love it! This afternoon I finished a Water mix necklace in various hues of blue, and now I’m off to make an Air and a Fire. I figured I should cover all of the elements while I’m at it!

What are you making these days?
