I’ve had fun with this creation. The pendant is handmade ceramic from Red Crow Arts with a lovely raku firing process. I highlighted the deep reds and greens on the pendant with some beautiful Garnets, keishi pearls and Swarovski crystals in Palace Green Opal. I also used both sterling silver and copper on this piece to accent the metallic sheen on the pendant.
Things here have been pretty mellow of late. I’m taking the time to sit down with my supplies and do a bit of inventory to see what I’ve got hiding in the nooks and crannies of my art space.
My current goal is to add to my stash of gemstone beads.( I’ve found a new place to shop for stones that I will be sharing with you all in my next post.) My roots as a jewelry creator are deeply entrenched in the world of geology. Rocks are my passion and I’m making sure to not lose sight of that. I’m taking the time with my new creations to make sure and use stones in a way that makes the piece both meaningful and beautiful. Currently in the works is a necklace that utilizes Tektites, Gold Sheen Obsidian, Quartz, and Stars. I can’t wait to show you when it’s finshed!
Tektites (from Greek tektos, molten) are natural glass rocks up to a few centimeters in size, which most scientists argue were formed by the impact of large meteorites on Earth‘s surface. Tektites are typically black or olive-green, and their shape varies from rounded to irregular.
Neat, huh?!

That’s a pretty bold statement piece! I’d wear that with no other jewelry because this necklace commands all the attention:-D
