January Art Bead Scene Challenge

I’ve mentioned before that I’m an avid reader over at Art Bead Scene. Their monthly challenge had provided inspiration for me in my beading adventures. This year, they’re doing the challenges a little bit differently. Each month the editors will be choosing a different painting each month to use as the inspiration. I love this idea and can’t wait to see what painting they choose next!

This month they’ve chosen Irises by Vincent Van Gogh. I love this piece, and was really excited to start putting things together to start creating. Well, I pulled a few things out and laid them with the painting to see how I like it.

So far so good! Tonight I’ll sit down and start playing with things. I have a couple options for focals, we’ll see which one I go with. Maybe I’ll use both? Who knows. In the picture you can see some long, faceted, pale green drops. Those were gifted to me from my good friend Draven last year some time. I think they pull the pale green out of the painting nicely and the shape is perfect, too!

Now it’s time to get some dinner. I think we might cheat and head to Sonic for some tater tots. :)

Blessings.
Peace.
