Inspiration Irises

Inspiration Irises

So here’s my first creation inspired by the Art Bead Scene monthly challenge, as mentioned in my previous post. I decided to go with more of the earthy colors in the painting rather than the irises. The irises are beautiful and all, but I wanted to dive a bit deeper in to the painting and pull out colors that are there, hiding.

The pendant I used is from Chinook Jewelry. It feels as organic and rusty as it looks, I love it! I’m very tactile and this pendant made my senses sing. Initially I thought I was going to make an elaborate beaded necklace for this challenge. Maybe I will with another piece, but for this one I kept it simple. It’s kind of like my Spring Seeds necklaces and kind of like a recent project on Art Bead Scene. I snapped a quick shot of what it looks like being worn. It’s a really comfortable piece, I’m wearing it now to give it a test run, so far so good! I may not want to part with this one….we’ll see. I need to get some more things listed my Art Fire shop so this one might make it in there.

Turned out very nice. I can see why it may not make it to your selling venue! – CT

Love what you did with the pendant! It makes me so happy when they find good homes! :)
