Weekend Wanderings…

This weekend gifted us with an unusually warm and sunny gift. Even better? It wasa equally spectacular on the coast, a true rarity in these part.

Saturday, after taking care of some car maintenance and weekend to do’s, we headed over to the coast. Once again, we went to the Pajaro Dunes. It’s my current favorite beach. One reason, it has a flat driveway that leads to the beach from the parking lot. A lot of the beaches in that par of Monterey Bay have steep hills/cliffs that you have to navigate to get down to the sand. Most have staircases, others have paved ramps, both are hard on my knees. So, the flat driveway is the way to go!

We got there close to sunset, and we were not disappointed. There was no fog and not a cloud in the sky. On top of that, the tide was going out to a negative tide and that left us with a bigger than normal stretch of sand to explore.

Sunday was another beach day, I couldn’t resist! Hubby and I had a date, just the two of us went. We spent a couple of hours there just walking in the surf. The surf was on it’s way out to another negative tide, so we had a gentle surf all day, almost flat at times. I don’t know why, but I find that type of surf just as beautiful and amazing as the crashing waves during a high tide. It’s the sounds of waves that you imagine when you want to be lulled to sleep by ocan sounds. So soothing and light. It made for a good day.

My Guys November 2008

I love weekend like this. Things were mellow and relaxing and we spent time just doing the things we wanted to do. Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular, just what we wanted. Isn’t life grand?
