Things here at the Goddessjoy blog have been a bit quiet lately, and for that I must apologize, my Dear Readers. What’s keeping me from my blog you may ask? My legs are keeping me away! A couple of months ago I started Humira injections for my RA. I started these injection to replace the Methotrexate injections I started earlier this year, that weren’t treating me to well. The Humira has proven to be a lifesaver for me!

For the first time in THREE YEARS I can go to the beach and walk, for HOURS and not be in pain. It hit me a few weeks ago when we took a drive to Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove. We parked in our usual area, and I proceeded to climb up on to the rocks without having to stop every couple of feet to make sure I could get back to the car. I just kept going and going.

Last weekend we went to Palm Beach over at the Pajaro Dunes near Watsonville to spend some time enjoying the surf. I was up walking, finding sand dollars and shells for three hours on Saturday! The reason we left? Hubby and kiddo were cold and tired! Sunday we went back. Four hours that day, and I was the only one left standing. I was having a great time walking, digging, exploring, and playing in the surf. It felt fabulous. I felt more like myself that I have in years!

So, I’ve been taking advantage of my new found mobility. I think, half of me is afraid it’s only temporary and will end soon, so I am doing as much as I can before it’s gone again. Hopefully this won’t be the case. Hopefully, this will last a while, and I’ll be able to live a normal life for many more years. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, shall we?
