Are we done yet?

The holidays are almost over here, and we have survived. Things are mellow here during this time of the year, and we like it that way. A nice family Christmas with just the four of us at home, not having to leave the house for the entire day. Perfection. Hubby and kiddo have been home since the Friday before Christmas. Hubby returns to work this Wednesday, Kiddo returns to school on the 7th of January.

Once in a while it gets a bit hairy with everyone home at the same time, but, this holiday stretch has been nice. Very mellow overall. The Boys have had lots of game time together, which is fun for me to watch and also allows me to wander off into creative land without worrying about kiddo.

Wander off into creative land? Me? Yes, finally!

Solstice Moon It hit the night of the Solstice, in my mind, the ideas started brewing. Starting with a couple of jewelry pieces made in honor of the Solstice. A bracelet fill of moonstones and silver came first. Click to see a larger image.

Then a necklace followed. Yule Heart

The focal on this piece is an amazing cast Sterling Silver bead with beautiful scrolling hearts and I accented it with some Moonstone and a tiny Quartz point.

Then my focus turned to working on some collage and assemblage pieces, and there are no pictures of them. :)

Today, two more jewelry pieces were made. One to honor the New Moon. It’s a bracelet of various shaped Labradorite beads, separated by tiny cultured pearls and finished off with a blackened Sterling Silver “S” clasp.

Dark Moon

Next, a necklace that features an amazing boro glass pendant from Lori Lochner.

Dream Time Necklace There’s no way I can capture the colors in this pendant with my mediocre photography skills. It’s an amazing blend of blues, yellows, grey with hints of green. Lori makes some of the most beautiful, organic boro glass pieces I’ve seen. They have such an earthy organic feel with a touch of space in the mix.

The pictures in this entry were all snapped inside with my daylight lamp. Not the best, but I wanted to share! I’ll have to take each piece outside and get some really nice shots so I can list these pieces soon.

It’s so hard to part with them…..

Blessings.
Peace.
