Fact #1:  The Wizard of oz is my favorite movie of all times.

Fact #2: I have a sensory processing disorder called Tactile Defensiveness. A lot of things hurt my skin, like a light touch or something that most people would consider to be gentle. Intense sensations, like getting tattooed or scratched hard, are very soothing to me. I sleep during my tattoo sessions. This plays a HUGE role in the jewelry that I create. I test wear each piece I create, and if I can’t wear it, I take it apart and redo it until it feels good.

Fact #3: My mother received over a dozen electro-shock treatments while she was pregnant with me. She didn’t know she was pregnant, they didn’t test her before hand. This probably has a lot to the previously mentioned sensory issues….along with other things.

Fact #4: I’ve been on antidepressants for almost 8 years. Celexa to be exact. Depression runs in my family, and after I had my son I had to deal with a severe case of postpartum depression combined with panic attacks. I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll be on this medication for the rest of my life, and I’m ok with that. It helps me manage things without getting out of hand. It helps me feel like myself :)

Fact #5: My son is the most awesome kid on the planet. Seriously. He is. All you other mothers, deal with it.  :)

Fact #6: My husband is the most awesome husband on the planet. He’s a software engineer in the Video Games Industry. Yes, he makes video games for a living. Because of this, I’m able to stay home and be Mom. I love it :)

Fact #7: I grew up on a farm in Southern Ohio. We had a ton of cats, a couple ducks, and 100+ chickens. I LOVE chickens. They’re so fun to watch. One day, when I grow up, I want to have a pet chicken :)
